I heard these words a few weeks ago on a local radio station. Since then, God has been showing me that this is more than just a religious phrase - it is something I need to see as a reality in my own life. Up until now, I've not realized the importance of this truth.
One of the first things God showed me after He saved me was that my life was no longer my own. He had bought and paid for my soul with his blood and He was going to have control over my life. At first this realization scared me, but as I began to look at it right, I saw what a truly safe and protected place I was now in. The kind of place a child is in while her father is watching over her and sees all the dangers around her. God truly sees me as His child.
I know that God wants me to remember that He is my Heavenly Father. He knows me, with all my fears and weaknesses, and will always deal with me in a personal way just like He did in salvation. He knows what is best for me, and I can trust Him to do what is right.
David said in Psalm 103:13&14 that "Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him. For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust." It is comforting to know that God wants me to remember that I am His child. It is also comforting to know that He also remembers me as well.
