Eleven years have passed since I was born of the Spirit (July 27, 1986). This is what I call my "Spiritual Birthday". This year when my birthday came around, the Lord began to show me the importance of celebrating this day. On our fleshly birthdays it is traditional to celebrate this day by the giving of gifts, parties, and cakes, but often times our spiritual birthday passes unnoticed and uncelebrated. This should not be so, for this is the greatest day of your life. The day you were born from above should be your most celebrated day, because;
 

1. This is the day when a man who was born to sin was born to righteousness.
 

2. This is the day when a man who was born lost was found.
 

3. This is the day when a man who was born blind was enabled to see the Kingdom of God. (John 3:7)
 

4. This is the day when a fleshly man became a spiritual man! (1 Cor. 15:45-50)
 

5. This is the day an old man marked by sin died and a new man which sin cannot destroy was born. (1 John 3:9, 2 Cor. 5:17, 1 Cor. 15:55-57)
 

6. Without this day a man should wish that he had never been born, for without it the first birth alone means certain judgment, but with it the curse of the first is removed.
 

Your Spiritual Birthday must be remembered for;
 

1. It tells us how we are to walk in Christ. (Col. 2:6)
 

2. It makes you fruitful in the knowledge of God. (2 Peter 1:9)
 

3. It makes you sure of your calling and election whereby giving you boldness. (2 Peter 1:10)
 

4. It brings the peace of God upon you because the day you became a new creature is all that will matter with God. (Gal. 6:15-16)
 

So remember to celebrate the real day of your birth.
 

P.S. If you do not have one, seek the Lord while He can be found, call on Him while He is near!
