I. The Church was built by Christ - Matthew 16:18; Hebrews 3:3-6.

II. The Church is added to by God - Acts 2:47; I Corinthians 12:13&18.

III. The Church is the body of Christ - Ephesians 5:23; Colossians 1:18-24.

    A. With members in particular - Romans 12:4-5; I Corinthians 12:12-31.

    B. Joined together and mutually dependant - Ephesians 2:21, 4:16.

IV. Christ is the head of the Church - Ephesians 1:22, 5:23; Colossians 1:18.

V. The Church is the bride of Christ - John 3:29; Ephesians 5:23.

VI. The Church is the pillar and ground of truth - I Timothy 3:15.

VII. The Church has purpose:

    A. Is to assemble together - Hebrews 10:25, 12:23.

    B. Is to display God's wisdom - Ephesians 3:10-11.

    C. Is to glorify God - Ephesians 3:21.

    D. Is to exhibit the characteristics of Christ - Ephesians 4:12-15.

    E. Is to judge all spiritual matters among believers - Matthew 18:17; I Corinthians 2:15, 6:1-4.

VIII. The Church is given leaders to obtain its purpose - Acts 13:1, 14:23, 20:17 20:17;             I Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11-13; Hebrews 13:7&17.
