Election
I. Election is
according to:
A. The purpose and plan of
God - Romans 8:28; 9:11; Ephesians 1:11; II Timothy 1:9
B. The pleasure of God - Romans
9:15-24; Ephesians 1:3-7
C. The Grace of God - Romans
11:5.
II. Election is
always unto life and blessing
- Isaiah 65:9; Mark 13:20; Luke 18:7; Romans 8:28-39; Ephesians 1:3-11.
III. Election is
from before the foundation of
the world - II Thessalonians 2:13; Ephesians
1:4;
II Timothy 1:9.
IV. Election is
not conditional upon any good
thing in man - Romans 9:11; II Timothy 1:9.
V. The teaching
of
election by no means destroys
the zeal for reaching the lost. True understanding of it will cause one
to search diligently for God's children - II Timothy
2:10;
Acts 18:10.
VII. God has
elected or ordained a certain way
in which his elect shall be saved and none shall be saved without
coming
that way - I Corinthians 1:21; II Thessalonians 2:13; Ephesians 2:10.
