GRACE
I. Grace is
that,
one attribute of God, which
all men should be most thankful for because
-
I Corinthians 1:4; II Corinthians 4:15; Ephesians
1:6.
A. The attribute itself means
to favor or deem precious, not because of anyredeeming qualities on the
part of the one being favored, but because of the love found in the
redeemer
-
Romans 4:4,
11:6;
II Corinthians 9:8; Proverb
3:34; 1 Peter 5:10.
B. By it men have been saved
from certain ruin!- Genesis 19:19; Ezra 9:8; Jeremiah
31:2;
II Timothy 1:9; Ephesians 2:5-8.
C. By it men have been enabled
to be in the very presence of God - Exodus
33:12-17;
Hebrews 4:16.
D. By it men are able to be
known of God - Exodus 33:17; Romans 11:5; Ruth 2:10.
E. By it men have been able
to be used by God - Luke 1:28; Acts 4:33, 15:40; Romans 1:5, 12:6; I
Corinthians
3:10, 15:10; Ephesians 3:8.
F. By it men have been enabled
to believe on Christ - Acts 18:27; Romans 12:3; I Timothy 1:14.
G. By it men are able to have
assurance - Romans 4:16.
H. By it men are freed from
the law - Romans 6:14; Galatians 5:4.
I. By it men are able to endure
divers temptations and struggles - II Corinthians
12:9;
I Corinthians 10:13.
J. By it men are able to have
comfort and hope - II Thessalonians 2:16.
K. By it men are taught to
live godly, thus bringing about restraint in this present world

Titus 2:11-12.
II. All men have
been blessed by the Grace of
God to some degree - Titus 2:11-12; John 1:16;
John 3:16; Hebrews 6:7; Matthew 5:45.
III. The Grace
of
God could not be displayed
in a greater way than though his Son, Jesus Christ - John 1:14-17; Acts
20:24.
A. The grace of Christ was
seen on his lips - Psalm 45:2; Luke 4:22; Acts 14:3, 20:32.
B. The grace of Christ was
seen in his life - II Corinthians 8:9.
C. The grace of Christ was
seen in his death - Hebrews 2:9
D. Through Christ, the gift
of grace was given - Romans 5:15; I Corinthians 1:4.
E. Through Christ, grace has
reigned over sin - Romans 5:21.
F. Through Christ, grace has
saved us - Acts 15:11; Ephesians 2:8.
IV. We believe
that the subject of the grace
of God is inexhaustible, and that if a man had eternity to describe it
he would not do it justice - I Peter 4:10; John 21:25.
