Sanctification
I. Sanctification is the act of God
which is
making one clean, holy and pure, and setting him
apart
for God's own use: This is an on going process beginning before
salvation
and ending with glorification - I Thessalonians 5:23; II Thessalonians
2:13.
II. How one is Sanctified:
A. By work of
the Holy Spirit
- I Corinthians 6:11; II Thessalonians 2:13;
I Peter 1:2
B. Through the
Truth - II
Thessalonians 2:13; John 15:3, 17:17&19.
C. Through the
sacrifice of
the Lord Jesus Christ - Hebrews 9:14; 10:10&29.
D. By faith in
Christ - Acts
26:18; II Thessalonians 2:13.
E. Through a
believers obedience
to God's desires -
II Timothy 2:21;
I Thessalonians 4:3-4; I John 3:3.
