I. His Person -

    A. He exhibits all of the Divine attributes of the Godhead (See Article on God's divine attributes).

    B. He exhibits the following Moral attributes -

        1). Compassion - Matthew 9:36, 14:14, 15:32; Luke 7:13; Hebrews 4:15

        2). Gentleness - Isaiah 40:11; II Corinthians 10:1.

        3). Obedience - Matthew 26:39; John 8:29; Philippians 2:8; Hebrews 5:8.

        4). Righteousness - Isaiah 11:4-5; II Corinthians 5:21; II Timothy 4:8.

        5). Faithfulness - John 17:4; Hebrews 2:17, 3:1-2.

        6). Mercy - Matthew 9:27-29; 20:29-34; Hebrews 2:17; Jude 21.

        7). Protectiveness - John 10:11; I Peter 2:25.

        8). Love - Romans 8:35; II Corinthians 5:14; Ephesians 3:19.

        9). Humility - Zechariah 9:9; Matthew 11:29, 12:19; Philippians 2:7-8.

II. His Work -

    A. Before the Incarnation -

        1). He was an active agent in the creation - Genesis 1:1-2:3; John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-17.

        2). He received the tithe from Abraham & blessed him - Genesis 14:18-20; Hebrews 7:1-4.

        3). He delivered the promise of Isaac to Abraham - Genesis 18:1-15 (esp. verses 10&13).

        4). He delivered the notice of Sodom's destruction to Abraham - Genesis 18:16-33.

        5). Blessed Hagar - Genesis 16:7-14 (esp. verses 13&14).

        6). Wrestled with Jacob and blessed him - Genesis 32:24-30 (esp. Verse 30).

        7). Appeared to Joshua before Jericho - Joshua 5:13-15.

        8). Walked with the Hebrews in the furnace - Daniel 3:24-25.

        9). Appeared to Daniel - Daniel 10:5-21 (compare verses 5&6 with Revelation 1:16).

III. After His death through the second coming -

    B. Ascended to God to make atonement for sin - Hebrews 9:11-12 & 23-28; John 20:17.

    C. Ascended and assumed position as High Priest - Luke 24:50-51; Acts 1:9-11;                 Hebrews 1:3, 6:20, 7:24-28, 8:1-6; Romans 8:34.

    D. Ascended and assumed position of King - I Peter 3:22; Ephesians 1:20-23.

    E. Ascended to prepare a place for saints of God - John 14:2; II Corinthians 5:1-4;         Hebrews 11:10.

    F. Revealed Himself to the disciples to confirm the resurrection - Acts 1:2-8; Luke 24:44-48;        I Corinthians 15:3-8.

    G. Commissioned the church - Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:14-15.

    H. Sent the Comforter ( the Holy Spirit) - John 14:16, 15:26 & 16:7.

 

IV. At the second coming and beyond -

    A. Will reveal Himself in the clouds in power and glory - Matthew 24:30; Acts 1:11;     Colossians 3:4; I Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 1:7.

    B. Will raise the dead - John 5:28-29, 6:39; I Thessalonians 4:16-17.

    C. Will reveal men's hearts - I Corinthians 4:5.

    D. Will send forth angels - Matthew 13:41, 24:31; Revelation 14:14-16.

    E. Will reward the faithful - Matthew 16:27, 25:20-21; I Corinthians 3:12-15; II Timothy 4:8;       I Peter 5:1-4; Revelation 2:7 & 17, 3:12, 7:17.

    F. Will judge all men - II Timothy 4:1; Romans 2:16, 14:10; Acts 10:42, 17:31;                             II Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 25:32; I Peter 4:5.

    G. Will punish the wicked - Matthew 7:22-23, 24:50-51, 25:30; II Thessalonians 1:7-8;                 II Peter 3:7; Revelation 6:16.

    H. Will marry the bride (His church) - Matthew 22:2-4; Ephesians 5:24-27; Revelation 19:7.

    I. Will split the Mount of Olives - Zechariah 14:2-4.

    J. Will fight the battle of Armageddon - Revelation 6:16, 17:13-14, 19:11-21.

    K. Will reign on earth - Luke 1:32-33; II Corinthians 15:25; Revelation 2:27, 11:15, 20:4.

    L. Will slay the Anti-Christ - II Thessalonians 2:8.

    M. Will empower the saints to reign with Him - II Timothy 2:12; Revelation 2:26-27, 20:4.

    N. Will deliver the kingdom up to the Father - I Corinthians 15:24-28.
